What is an Evaporator?
Evaporator is a component which is located below the dashboard of the car and it evaporates heat from the freezing liquid refrigerant and converts into gaseous state and then passes the cold air into the AC duct inside the car.
The main work of the evaporator is to cool the refrigerant so that it can absorb the heat.
The most common problem with evaporators are:
- Break due to corrosion
- Fins blocked by soiling
- Leaks from the couplings when replacing the evaporator, always replace the receiver drier and the expansion valve/orifice tube.
